Two open PhD positions at the University of Stavanger
Tidal News is a collaborative research project between the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS) and the Networks and Distributed systems group at the Informatics Department, University of Oslo. One position is funded by the Norwegian Research Council, and another PhD position may be funded by the University of Stavanger if a suitable candidate is found.

The research will be carried out in collaboration several highly reputed research groups, including the Computer Systems group of VU University Amsterdam, in particular with the group headed by Maarten van Steen, the Middleware Systems Research Group at the University of Toronto, Canada, the University of Trento, Italy, and the University of California, San Diego.
Within this project framework, there are two available PhD positions at the University of Stavanger. Students hired in the project will be co-supervised by members.
Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, or in a related study, with excellent results. They must also be able to demonstrate interest in scientific research. The ideal candidate for the position will have strong background in distributed systems.

The current PhD students and postdocs in our group are coming from more than 5 different countries. We also have an international master's degree program in computer science that attracts students from many different countries.
