The successful candidates will work on the analysis of wake effects of offshore wind farms by the means of measuranalysis of wakements, mesoscale models (position A) and LES models (position B). Interactions between adjacent offshore wind farms and the impact of large-size wind farms on the wind conditions in the North Sea region shall be investigated.
A good MSc or diploma degree in physics, meteorology or a related subject is required for the two positions offered. Advanced programming skills (Fortran or C), experiences in data analysis and a good knowledge of atmospheric physics are also required. Experiences in the numerical simulation of atmospheric flows, parallel programming and wind energy research would be an advantage for the candidate. Good English skills, the willingness to work in a team of scientists as well as the willingness to collaborate in research projects are necessary for the open positions.
