Scholarships – Genuine or Fake?

Scholarships are today awarded to many people across the globe. Even kids have scholarship programs which will enable them pursue their studies.  Scholarships can be attained in a number of ways including the If you have to pay money to get money that is a scam. Many people have fallen victims especially families which are so desperate and need some finances to cater for education. This does not just happen on the internet but some organizations solicit for money from individuals claiming to fully finance their careers. This normally happens so fast and only a certain group of people know about it since   it is not legal.  

Scholarships are not loans and any money asked prior to the application will indicate signs of fraud. The scam federations are tricky and will imitate the legal government federations with almost similar names they use like "foundation, or "federation" the terms to be offered are so attractive and many people run for grabs without knowing the repercussions. Scholarship scams pose a big risk especially with the fast growing technology where people can quickly inform each other before they know about it.

Scholarships are meant to be supporting agents but malicious people are rapidly defaming the intended use and diverting it to selfish gains. There are a number of ways one can detect a scholarship scam and this can be upon the demand of application fee.  Most genuine scholarships don't request for any money they only need relevant requirements. One needs to look out for sales pitches which have been disguised as financial aid they also form part of fraud. There are also some suspicious offers with an intention to catch the interest of desperate students who wish to have their studies funded. Such offers demand for certain amount of money first before they can offer any assistance. Some financial aid consultants also form part of the scam group, they demand for money before they can link you to a suitable scholarship program but this is normally a hoax because they will keep on demanding for  money until the time you will ‘qualify' for one. It is very important for people to well inform about scholarships before fully committing themselves.

Economics Scholarship scams are on the increase and one has to differentiate between legitimate and fraudulent organizations, what to do when you are scammed and the procedures to follow when you become a victim.  Maybe the easiest way to start is by sensitizing the experts know about the scholarship if you have developed some doubts about it.  It is also advisable to report the scholarship scam as soon as possible to allow enough time for investigation. All in all, not all scholarships are fraudulent.
